Colorado propane prices by county
Why county pages here show one statewide EIA benchmark, and what really changes your price from county to county.
The county pages on this site show the same statewide EIA benchmark. We do not have county average prices, and we do not invent them. What differs by county is your delivered quote, which depends on supplier coverage and route economics.
What a county page can honestly offer
A shared benchmark, plus context: which suppliers publicly serve the area, how rural the routes are, and which questions to ask. It cannot say that one county is cheaper than another.
What does vary locally
Supplier coverage, route density, distance from storage, and competition all differ by place.
- Fewer suppliers can mean fewer quotes to compare.
- Long routes can mean higher delivery cost per gallon.
- Municipal edges and rural roads in the same county can price differently.
Service area caveats
Supplier service areas change and do not follow county lines. Confirm that a company serves your exact address before relying on any listing. A stated county service area does not automatically extend into neighboring counties.
Hypothetical: same benchmark, different county context
Two invented addresses under one shared benchmark.
| Benchmark shown on both pages | $3.00 (hypothetical) |
|---|---|
| Address on dense route, three suppliers quoting | Quote $3.35 |
| Address on long rural road, one supplier quoting | Quote $3.85 |
All dollar figures in this worked example are hypothetical round numbers chosen to show the arithmetic. They are not EIA data, not a quote, and not a prediction. This does not describe any real county.
